More of a 2.5 tbh. I love the majority of what's in this book however there are some parts/points that I noticed which did not make it to be one of my favourites.- I liked that this doesn't end in a cliffhanger but there is no major plot twist or climax in this book. It's always a buildup of tension. I always thought while reading that there will be some major sh!t to happen but to my disappointment there's none.- There is no group dynamic. The only chemistry that I saw in this book is between Laura and Ares. Ollie is kind of just a friend that she flirted with. Dante had a strong game at the beginning of the book and then it fizzled out. I still don't know how to put Milo in the group. He's like Dante that's ok at the beginning and then suddenly take 180 degree in his character which is confusing. There's a hint that it's because of Ollie. I'm still not sure if it has MM in this bokk but this is why I don't favor MM in my RH books. I don't want any of the guys to have divided attention. I want them to be only affectionate towards the main lead. Just like with Milo, no matter what his reason going to be in the future for being a d!ck towards the main girl, in the end, him liking the girl will just be forceful. I will think that he really doesn't like the girl but Ollie and he's just being forced because of some paranormal reason.- I don't feel the RH in it. The group dynamic is still not there and I kinda feel bad for the girl because she's like pushing herself into the group.- This book gives me an Ariel Kimber vibe but it puts a different twist so I think this is still ok.- So all in all I'm still not sure if I'm going to read the next book. Maybe I'll wait the series to finish then decide if I'll continue reading this series.

Great start to what I can imagine being aa awesome series. It has a few editing issues, but still a great read. I couldn’t put it down. Love this book, and look forward to more.

Such a good read. Can't wait for the next book. I don't think I put the book down until I was done.

I’m feeling neutral about this one. Several things have me interested in book 2 — want to see the relationships deepen and develop, uncover the mysteries surrounding her mom, figure out what exactly she can do. I also liked that the initially shy lead eventually came out of her shell a bit (though it was a bit of a slow start). However, have a couple hesitations as well from book 1 — the pacing felt a bit off the me; there didn’t seem to be any big revelations at the end to amp up the excitement for the story. I’m not saying there necessarily needs to be a cliffhanger, but I got more frustrated by the lack of information than intrigued by the mystery. The relationship dynamics are off a bit too; a couple of the romantic characters I’m interested in learning more about, but the others I not seeing the chemistry with the lead. There was also several editing issues—wrong name, missed word, strange transitions; all of which are minor in the grander scheme, though know for some people it’s a big issue. So I’m on the fence right now about book 2. Guess I’ll see if it gets recommended by amazon to me down the line.

This book was barely tolerable. Maybe the idea of the story is good, I don’t know, because it wasn’t long enough for anything to actually happen. It appears mostly unedited. The boys are evasive for the fun of it. Punctuation was....sometimes just not there? World building didn’t happen. Characters were flat and also super confusing. I don’t know, I read this book on a recommendation and I won’t be bothering with the next one.

Everyone at some point in their life can relate to Laura. Whether it's being the new kid at school, moving often, living poorly or being invisible. You can relate to her struggle to adapt when she cant avoid the guys who walk into her life when she starts at a new school in yet another new town. She wants to keep them away but realizes how hard that really is. What she doesnt understand is how much life as she knows it is going to change. She handles some of it the way you expect a teenager barely 18 to handle it. But the unexpected? She handles much better than given credit with her upbringing. Trust is hard for her and now she has 4 men who are striving for the chance. Dante, Milo and Ollie are there from the get go and she still struggles to know what to do or not when Ares walks into the picture too. While Dante can be seen as having the love/hate relationship, I feel like Ares is the real love/hate. I cant wait to see how this all plays out in the next book because we are all in for a surprise. I'm just not quite sure what that surprise is going to be.

This book was like walking through quick sand... It goes absolutely nowhere fast. There is zero chemistry between any characters. I got to 83% of the book and I still don’t know the purpose of anything in the book. Laura the h might as well be a 5 year old with how timid she is towards EVERYTHING. Is it to much to ask for a Heroine that doesn’t need her hand held anytime she thinks?? The whole book was just to slow for me and I still know nothing about the characters or their “abilities” I like the whole RH genre but I feel like books are getting more and more ridiculous as the genre grows. If you want to read an RH book just because you’re into it and don’t really care about the story then this book is fine otherwise there are much better books out there.

This is fun, if a bit painful at times. Laura is brutally innocent and naive when it comes to the guys, making assumptions based on her own life experiences (which is normal, we ALL do that) instead of just asking. Honestly, I can’t blame her - but it is setting up some revelations for her in book 2, ones that are going to rock her world, probably literally.Pros:- Intriguing Plot.- New take on the PNR theme.- Delightful slowburn- Characters are interesting and uniqueCons:- Some editing issues.- That ending... I mean, what?? It just cuts off.
